Cult Beauty in South Korea

Cult Beauty in South Korea

So here I am in Seoul, the centre of Asia’s burgeoning global beauty market that is set for world domination any day now. Each year, more and more international travellers come to South Korea to experience the exciting innovations in beauty technology, plastic surgery and cosmetics.

Our tour guide is a veteran Seoul beauty guide, Youngmin, who today has managed to squeeze me in for an appointment with one of Seoul’s most in demand dermatologists, Dr Yeojeong Kim at her clinic in Gangnam called “Dove”.

Dove Clinic, Gangnam-gu

Dr Kim takes a look at my face and recommends a few treatments to create more symmetry while giving me an anti-aging regime to follow in terms of skincare and follow up treatments over the next five years. Her approach is holistic, not just focussing on injectables or products, but also diet and lifestyle changes that are specific to my skin type and stage of life. This is not your average Australian doctor visit and I leave feeling relaxed and clear about how my skin works and the ways I can tweak my existing routine to better achieve the outcomes I am after.

Dove is located on the 8th Floor, Nonhyun-dong 7-14 (the street address) in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

For anti-wrinkle injections to three areas of my face and volume/filler injections to two areas the cost was $500,000 Korean Won (around $575 Australian Dollars).
