How oils changed my hair
I’m a very low-maintenance kind of girl when it comes to hair (infuriatingly so for Michael) , so the less products and styling the better. I have thick, course and wavy hair which can lead to a one way ticket to boofy, triangle hair if I’m not careful. Enter hair oils! Not only do they condition and tame the frizz, they also help your hair dry more quickly – a MAJOR plus in my book. I’m assured there’s scientific backing for the quicker drying time – something about the whole oil and water repel each other – but to be honest, I couldn’t care less about the reason as long as it’s reducing the insane time it takes my hair to dry. My favourite ways to use oils are through the ends and mid lengths when damp, and sometimes as a touch up when my hair is dry and lacking lustre. Be warned though: my hair can handle a lot of product without being weighed down, so use at your own discretion and start with a small amount – you can always go back in for more! You might be well aware of the OG hair oil, Moroccan Oil, but here are a few of my go to oils:
idHAIR Elements GOLD Golden Hair & Skin Oil
Don’t let the organic status fool you – this oil is potent! This oil provides nourishment and protection, and is also a great wash out treatment for your scalp.
Wella SP Luxe Oil
This little fella might have a lightweight feel, but it sure packs a punch! Great for taming frizz, conditioning and adding shine, and also comes with the added bonus of extra Keratin Protection.
O&M Frizzy Logic Argan Oil Serum
This product combines Argan oil with macadamia oil, for an Australian take on the traditional hair oil. It’s great for taming hair (especially with all this humidity we have been having), adding shine and protecting your hair.
